The IRONSTAR 113 is a middle-distance triathlon featuring a 1.93 km swim, a 90 km bike ride, and a 21.1 km run, totalling 113 km of racing through one of Egypt’s most spectacular locations. Whether you’re an experienced triathlete looking to start your season strong or a first-timer seeking an unforgettable challenge, this event takes place in ideal winter conditions.

The swim takes place in the warm waters of the Red Sea, with water temperatures ranging from 22 to 24°C (72 to 75°F) in late January.

A backup system ensures the swim portion proceeds regardless of weather conditions. If open water conditions don’t allow the swim, a specially prepared reserve pool within the hotel meets international competition standards.

The bike course features wide, smooth roads cutting through futuristic desert landscapes that will inspire you to push your limits.

The run course winds through the grounds of Rixos Radamis Sharm El Sheikh, offering smooth turns, exotic surroundings, and enthusiastic spectator support to carry you to the finish line.

Categories

Individual Competition

Athletes compete in age-group categories divided into 5-year brackets, ranging from 18-24 to 80+. This ensures fair competition across all age ranges.

Elite Category

The Elite category is reserved for the strongest athletes who have achieved qualifying standards over the past three years or hold professional licenses. Athletes meeting these criteria are automatically included and marked with a special signature on the participants list.

Relay Teams

For those who prefer a team experience, relay teams are available in three formats:

• Men’s teams
• Women’s teams
• Mixed teams

Relay participation is an excellent opportunity for athletes specializing in one discipline or those not yet ready to complete the full distance individually.
