Hiking Wadi BaaBaa
This December, immerse yourself in the wonders of Sarabeet with an exciting weekend hike. Explore the breathtaking valleys of Wadi Nasab and Wadi BaaBaa, rich in history and natural beauty. Known for its copper, manganese, and turquoise deposits, Sarabeet offers a warmer and lower-altitude adventure compared to St. Catherine, making it a delightful escape into the mountains.
A Journey Through Sarabeet’s Valleys
This medium-level hike is perfect for adventure seekers with good physical fitness. Over two days, participants will trek through scenic landscapes, visit historical sites like the Nasab Well and the abandoned teleferic, and enjoy the serene beauty of the valleys. Hikers will cover approximately 6 to 7 hours of walking each day, making it a rewarding yet manageable adventure.
The trip includes:
- Professional guides and leaders
- Bedouin support with camels and pick-up vehicles for transporting belongings
- Round-trip private transportation from Cairo
- One night in a Sarabeet lodge and one night camping in the mountains
- Meals: Friday (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) and Saturday (Breakfast, Lunch)
Timing and Location
The hike will take place in the Sarabeet area, starting with a departure from Cairo on Thursday, December 5th, at 6:00 PM, and concluding on Saturday, December 7th, at 11:00 PM. The itinerary includes overnight stays in a lodge and the mountains, with hiking routes spanning Wadi Nasab and Wadi BaaBaa, showcasing Sarabeet’s diverse natural and historical features.
Registration Information
Registration for this hiking adventure is now open online. Click here to register, read the terms and conditions, and finalize your payment. The participation fee is 4860 LE per person, which includes all activities, meals, and transportation. 2000 LE cancellation fee after November 25th. No refunds for cancellations within 48 hours of the trip.
